Donate Food
Food Bank donations
When someone turns to our Food Bank, it’s because they’ve run out of options – they don’t have enough money to live on.Â
With your help we can offer emergency food parcels and support whilst they get back on their feet.Â
We want to make sure that no one in our local community has to go hungry, but we need your help to make this happen.

Transport Scheme
Our Transport Scheme carried out over 400 trips in the first 3 months of 2025, and more requests are being received each week.Â
12 volunteer drivers and one part-time coordinator manage this service which provides low-cost transport for those who don’t have access to transport, or are unable to use public transport for journeys to the doctors, hospitals, shopping, or visiting friends.
Befriending Scheme
Our Befriending Scheme currently has 13 volunteers who visit 23 registered clients.
Some have become lifelong friends and visit both male and female clients regularly.Â
Age is not a barrier – both young and not-so-young volunteers visit local vulnerable and lonely people making a real difference to their lives.

Ways to volunteer your time
We’re always on the lookout for people to volunteer their time as Befrienders and Drivers. Volunteers are vital to ensure we continue providing the services we do.
Become a Befriender
Befrienders must have a caring and compassionate nature, be great communicators, and get on with all types of people. You only need one spare hour a week and people of all ages are welcome. You’ll visit lonely and vulnerable people for a chat and a catch up, and make new friends at the same time.
Become a Driver
Drivers must have their own vehicle, spare time to give, and enjoy helping people. The scheme provides low-cost transport for the vulnerable and elderly with visits to the doctors, hospital, shops, or to spend time with friends.
All volunteers need to be DBS checked and complete an application form. We can help you with both, and we’ll pay for the DBS check.
Rather give your time?
If you’d rather give your time, than money, why not consider becoming a Volunteer, – call us on 01773 535 255 or drop in at Wellington Place, Eastwood, to find out more
